Graphic Recording and Design
What is Graphic Recording?

It goes by many names:
-
Visual Notetaking
-
Graphic Facilitation,
-
Visual Practition,
-
Sketchnotes

But the goal is the same...
Bring clarity and deeper understanding to information through the use of visuals!

My job as a Visual Notetaker is to :
-
Synthesize information
-
Demonstrate what and how information is being discussed
-
Highlight ideas that resonate with the room
-
Breakdown complex concepts into digestable ideas
-
Help everyone feel more engaged and leave with understanding and clarity!

Why use Graphic Recording?
Spreading Awareness
Every client receives digital copies of the captures, which can be posted on your website and/or social media to give people a snapshot of the work that you are doing as an organization/company. This engages people who might not have otherwise understood your impact or it can even just create a feeling of missing out by not attending your event, therefore increasing interest in your next conference or summit!

Remembering your Vision
The physical and digital copies are often hung in the workplace as a reminder of what your group stands for and where you want to go as a community. These captures often highlight your identity, the ideas and values you find important, or even remind you of the things you are striving to improve!

Gaining Insight
Want to hear from the people in your team? Knowledge walls are a great way to gather information on how your team is feeling, what they would like to see more of in the organization/company, and the things that make them proud to be a part of the team in the first place.

Increasing Participation and Engagement
Graphic Recording is just as much about the process as it is about the product you get at the end. How attendees are taking in the information during the event, enhances the outcome of the event as well. Studies show that about 60% of the population are Visual Learners and we all possess visual thinking skills. When information is presented in multiple ways (i.e Verbal, Text, and Visual) attendees gain a deeper understanding of the material and can engage with information more effectively, compared to the standard (and sometimes dreaded) Powerpoint presentation.
